2005 ZONE PROJECT supporting the RED CROSS
IN 2005 we started raising funds to help the RED CROSS purchase a new Fire & Emergency Support Vehicle. This a service run and manned by the RED CROSS to give counselling and support to people who have suffered trauma, or possible have lost everything, as a result of a house fire.		Zone Sponsored walk 5th June 2005 raising £4000 towards the Fire Victim Support Vehicle.
The Vehicle is run purely by voluntary contributions and the RED CROSS rely on donations to run and equip the vehicle. Thanet Lions along with other clubs in the area raised the £21000 necessary to puchase a specialist vehicle. This vehicle has now been serving the people of Thanet for 2 years Anybody wishing to donate funds towards this project should contact Lion Phil Robinson on 01843-579914. The vehicle also needs toiletries and for the children Teddy Bears (Also donated by Thanet Lions Club). Again if anybody wishes to donate toiletries or good quality clothing please let us know Email		Handing over the remining funds to purchase the vehicle in 2006 at Westwood Fire Station.
